Bermondsey - The South Bank's Hidden Gem

Warehouses, factories and Zandra Rhodes

This another of our rare walks south of the river and a fascinating one it is too.

On this walk around SE1, you'll see an abundance of converted warehouses, old factories, a block of flats that are as pristine today as they were when they were built 120 years ago and an uber-trendy market.

You'll visit the place where one of fiction's great London villains may have met a very sticky end.

You'll also find out about two sons of Bermondsey who went into show business but had very differing career paths.

Once nicknamed "The Larder Of London", Bermondsey is the latest area of the capital to transform its character and embrace change.

This is probably our longest walk and lasts around two and a half hours but still costs the same as all the others:  £10 payable on the day - and will be illustrated by historic photographs. It starts outside Bermondsey tube station and ends close to London Bridge station;  full details will be sent to you a few days before the day of the walk.
