KENNINGTON & VAUXHALL

Kennington & Vauxhall

This walk starts in Kennington and takes us through an area that is changing by the minute.                                                                                    so catch  it whilst you can as it’s past is vanishing quickly.

On this walk, we'll visit a world famous sports arena which is mainly known for cricket but has other stories to tell.  We'll also pass a housing estate with a difference and a building that will take us to the stars! We'll by pass through one of London’s busiest and noisiest traffic junctions but one that’s just seconds away from complete tranquility.  Vauxhall is the new capital of the London’s gay scene and we'll stop outside its most famous and notorious gay pub.

The tour ends at the site of London’s first pleasure gardens which date back to 1660. Within the site is one of London’s hidden gems - a Victorian teahouse with a shady past! It's a great place to end the tour and there'll you'll be able to get a refreshing cup of tea (they don't sell coffee!) and a delicious slice of cake.
